Public Authority for Industry – Requirements Analysis and Data Assessment for Enterprise GIS, Kuwait (March 2014 – June 2014)
GISCON Middle East W.L.L., in cooperation with OPENWARE (ESRI local dealer in Kuwait), participated in establishing an Enterprise GIS in the Public Authority for Industry in Kuwait (PAI). The project was required to centralize and relate the spatial information from the different departments and sources within PAI as well as other agencies in Kuwait. The project aimed to include GIS centric applications and to empower existing application with geospatial information and intelligence.
GISCON role was to conduct the Requirements Analysis and Data Assessment phase that involved the study and assessment of the existing applications and data within PAI. A detailed requirement analysis of the enterprise GIS system was performed in addition to studying and analyzing integration with other government organization. The data assessment included the reviewing of all native CAD drawings, existing GIS-enabled spatial databases, associated location-based databases, existing and future construction projects and other enterprise databases. The study then documented the current status, condition, accuracy, and lifecycle of the data.
