Ministry of Finance (Kuwait) selected GISCON Solutions for a 4-year GIS consultancy services project
After a tough international tendering exercise, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) of the State of Kuwait, has recently awarded a 4-year GIS consultancy services contract to design and supervise the implementation of an enterprise GIS to a consortium of Universe Computers, Kuwait, GISCON Solutions, Germany, and GPC-GIS, UAE.
The Ministry is responsible for compiling an inventory and assessment of all properties and buildings owned by the State, the administration of processes for taking private lands where required for public benefit, managing land exchanges between the government and private entities, running auctions for the sale of government owned land, and managing leases for markets and shops where these are established within government property. In carrying out these activities, the Ministry works closely with Kuwait Municipality for planning and cadastral boundary matters, with the Ministry of Justice in regards to land title administration, and with many other units of government who are involved in land affairs. |
An experienced team of international consultants was put together by GISCON and is proceeding with the development of the first phases of the program addressing the identification of business requirements, the development of a program and system specifications to meet these requirements, and an implementation plan for carrying it out. Subsequent Phases will focus on the implementation of the system, followed by the initiation of routine system operations and maintenance under close monitoring and supervision of the same consultants who designed the system.
The project was initiated at the end of April 2012 and the user needs assessment process has been completed by end of June 2012. The consultants are currently working on the systems conceptual design.
